From September 27 – 30, 2004, approximately 40,000 mining experts will attend the MINExpo® trade show in Las Vegas. But there will be no gambling here – on the contrary, the attendees will focus on carefully calculated investments in the latest technology designed to help mining companies involved in global competition achieve greater productivity and lower costs. Around 1,300 exhibitors will be competing for the attendees’ attention and – again this year – make the trade show the world’s largest showcase of the industry.
The Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group, for which the mining industry comprises one of the six fields of its industry expertise, is represented in Las Vegas with its entire range of products – from automated solutions to industrial IT and LifeCycle conceptions for long-lasting, high system performance. The complexity of the integrated approach, which is marketed under the name of SIMINECIS, required a coherent presentation, which was simultaneously highly comprehensible, visual and content-related.
As it did for the Hannover Messe in April 2004, Siemens commissioned
gernBotschaft Gesellschaft für Kommunikation to be its partner in this task. By further developing its “Hanover concept,” the Fürth full-service agency created an effective world of images and text that rendered the overall demands of the Siemens product range directly accessible and comprehensible, without complicated explanations. The measures used included, for example, the implementation of sales presentations, Internet advertisements, and below-the-line actions. And following the trade show, the concept is to be continued on a larger scope. In any case, in the glitzy city of Las Vegas, Siemens put the first highlight on its new mining communications.
